Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation was founded in 2007 by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to focus on health and education, locally and internationally. The foundation also responds to global emergencies, conflict and natural disasters affecting countries and vulnerable communities. In partnership with international development organisations and other local and regional NGOS, government entities, to-date, the foundation has reached more than 87 countries. The foundation also receives funds and donations from corporates in the UAE as well as individual donations through their website.

Programmes

  • Community Initiatives
    The foundation carries out many community programmes and initiatives across the UAE such as Ramadan Iftars, family activities and sponsoring pilgrims to Mecca, to strengthen the community bond and foster citizenship.
  • Education
    The foundation's education programme focuses on providing vocational and industrial training for marginalised communities and providing fellowships and scholarships for students. They also work on modernising school curriculums in order to tackle issues of unemployment and skills mismatch in the market.
  • Emergency and crises
    The foundation provides humanitarian relief and immediate response to emergencies and crises affecting refugees, immigrants and displaced individuals around the world such as in Pakistan, Iraq, Bangladesh and Haiti.
  • Health
    The health programme focuses mainly on childhood and motherhood care, healthy nutrition and eradication of malnutrition, access to safe water and supporting scientific research related to deadly diseases. Regionally, the foundation focuses on access to health care and investment in healthcare infrastructure such as building of hospitals and clinics.
