A new chapter for impact investing in MENA

Introducing Anara Impact Capital

Join us in Sharjah for a special conversation with Nafez Dakkak, the managing partner of Anara Impact Capital, the MENA region's first impact investment fund focused on learning, climate and wellbeing. Anara is anchored by family offices from across the region and aims to invest in late seed and series A companies.

This event is designed for people who are curious about impact investing and its potential to deliver positive change to the region.

Anara Impact Capital is a subsidiary of Alfanar Venture Philanthropy, and builds on its 20-year legacy of supporting regional changemakers.

A seasoned impact leader, Nafez co-founded BLDR, a venture studio focused on pioneering the future of work and learning in the MENA region by launching industry-leading edtech and fintech companies. Before that, while working at the Queen Rania Foundation in Jordan, Nafez launched Edraak.org, one of the largest open Arabic online education portals, which today reaches nearly 10 million learners across the MENA region.

Nafez holds a master’s degree in educational neuroscience from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, where he focused on Arabic literacy. For his undergraduate work at Yale, Nafez completed a year-long, award-winning thesis on the obstacles to curriculum reform in the Middle East, using Jordan and the UAE as case studies. The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in the UAE published an executive summary of this work in 2011.
