Giving in an emergency

Responding to humanitarian disasters effectively

Moving from reactive to proactive giving is a fundamental component of strategic philanthropy but what happens in a crisis when funds are needed quickly? How can donors use their money wisely to alleviate immediate need while also remaining strategic and value-aligned?

Join Laura Hughston, monitoring and evaluation specialist at CARE International, an international NGO, to be guided through the complexities of giving in emergency settings.

Through the lens of a decade-long career working in humanitarian settings, Laura will share first-hand insights about frontline response and the importance of using developing resilience, rebuilding communities, and delivering a dignified response. She will also discuss the importance of transparency and accountability in crisis funding.

This is a must-attend event for both private and institutional donors in a region that is no stranger to disaster and conflict and where humanitarian and development needs far outweighs current funding flows.
Following Laura's presentation, there will be an interactive Q+A session.
