The Symposium will debate how international development can become more sustainable and equitable, and will take a deeper look into the need of transforming the architecture of foreign aid itself, while exploring effective regional philanthropy frameworks.
While top-down approaches have been the traditionally prevalent models, borderless challenges require a prioritization of local contexts and lived experiences. Questions to consider include what development tools should institutions undertake to ensure adaptive financing and context-specific conditionalities.
Co-hosted by the Fiker Institute and the Fatima Bint Mohamed bin Zayed Initiative, the event will feature high-level speakers from government, the United Nations, and philanthropy.
