UNGA side event
On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), WINGS is hosting a high-level public event to bring together governments, multilaterals, business, and philanthropic leaders to discuss how philanthropy can engage more effectively as a strategic partner in multi-stakeholder partnerships to drive an inclusive, locally led development agenda.
This event responds to the growing call from governments and the broader civil society sector for philanthropy to show up as a strategic partner. Against the backdrop of constrained public budgets, declining aid, and urgent global challenges, this event will spotlight the unique role philanthropy can play, leveraging catalytic capital, networks, convening power, and local expertise, to co-design and co-invest in transformative initiatives.
The event will highlight practical models of collaboration as well as announce the launch of an exciting new initiative. This event is made possible by the generous support of the European Union, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and the Anglo American Foundation.
