The Arab Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change (APCCC)

Turning climate commitments into action

The Arab region is warming nearly twice as fast as the global average, yet it receives less than 5 percent of global climate finance. This imbalance calls for coordinated, collective action from philanthropy and civil society.

In 2024, the Arab Foundations Forum (AFF), in partnership with WINGS, convened foundations, NGOs, and INGOs from across the region to launch the Arab Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change (APCCC).

In 2025, this work progressed with the development of the APCCC Implementation Guide, shaped by a regional, multi-stakeholder working group. The Guide offers a practical and flexible framework to help organizations move from commitment to action across seven pillars, recognising that signatories are at different stages of their climate journey.

Join AFF for a 90-minute online session to launch the guide and hear from leading voices in climate from across the MENA region.

The session will:

  • Present an overview of the Arab Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change (APCCC)
  • Introduce the structure and purpose of the APCCC Implementation Guide
  • Hear from signatories on what they have already done to implement the pillars in practice
  • Discuss key challenges organizations face when implementing the Commitment
