Expo City Dubai Foundation

Expo City Dubai Foundation is rooted in the Expo Live Innovation Programme launched in 2016 and part of Expo 2020 Dubai. The Foundation, officially launched in 2024, aims to support sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth both within the UAE and globally. It focuses on advancing the SDGs by actively providing support to social enterprises from the Global South with funding, collaborations, investment and business opportunities in order to scale and grow their ideas.

Programmes

  • Changemakers Academy

    The Changemakers Academy is an innovation and entrepreneurship incubator that builds on the success of Expo 2020 Dubai’s University Innovation Programme (UIP). It provides training, mentorship, licensing and grants of up to AED 50,000 to graduates and aspiring entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into commercially viable businesses.

  • Global Innovators Programme

    The Programme supports innovators through a combination of grants, innovation challenges and knowledge-sharing. The Foundation currently has capacity to fund 10-15 startups every year with grants of up to USD 100,000 each.
