Sawa for Development

Sawa For Development was established in 2006 to contribute to the development and empowerment of vulnerable communities in Beqaa, Lebanon. Driven by the belief that social justice is fundamental for enduring peace, Sawa's work focuses on addressing discrimination, marginalisation, poverty, and human rights violations, particularly for women, girls, individuals with disabilities, and those in critical situations. The nonprofit employs a community development model, engaging target communities, developing capacity at the community level, facilitating long-term planning, prioritising community needs, mobilizing resources, and implementing development projects. Programmes include workshops and training, social enterprise support, and livelihoods assistance and aid.
