National Home Health Care Foundation

The National Home Health Care Foundation (NHHCF) focuses on improving the provision of medical and social support services to ill patients at home. It was established in Saudi Arabia in 1997 under the auspices of Princess Hessah bint Tiradh Al Shaalan, wife of the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and now presides under Princess Adelah Bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The foundation provides patients with the necessary medical equipment and consumable supplies at home, activating the role of patients’ families in providing health care for their loved ones through the guidance of the hospital medical team, and also supporting government’s efforts in the health sector through financial donations, provision of medical supplies to hospitals and health care centres and capacity building of local bodies. The foundation also receives funding and donations from many individuals, corporates and development agencies.

The NHHCF works with the patients’ families to insure they are able to help out and provide the necessary support and aid for the patients through set instructions by the medical team. Patients psychological and social needs are also assessed and specialized visitation programmes by the medical and social services home health care teams are conducted.
